AppLift Acquires App Promotion Platform Appiris, Expands to All Verticals

Unites Teams, Clients, Technology, and Creates a Global Mobile App Performance Marketing Powerhouse

BERLIN, GERMANY and SAN FRANCISCO, CA and SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – AppLift, the mobile games marketing platform, today announced that it has acquired appiris, a mobile user acquisition platform focused on non-gaming apps. With this acquisition, AppLift, after establishing itself in the mobile gaming space, takes on the next challenge by expanding to all app verticals. AppLift will integrate the team, clients, and technology of appiris to build a unified global leader in mobile performance marketing. The newly formed entity will be operating under a refreshed AppLift brand.

Founded by Stefan Benndorf, Hugo Gersanois, and the HitFox Group in January 2014, appiris helps app advertisers outside of the gaming vertical to acquire loyal users on a performance basis. Profitable since June 2014, the company is currently generating a 7-digit USD revenue figure per month and services over 200 global advertisers from various non-gaming verticals, such as Makemytrip for travel, Lyft for transportation, Myntra for e-commerce, OLX for classifieds, and Paltalk for messaging.

AppLift will integrate appiris’ technology into its existing adstack to offer one unified, LTV-powered user acquisition platform for all advertisers. Clients of appiris can utilize AppLift’s extended technology offering, including its recently launched media buying platform DataLift. Non-gaming advertisers will also gain access to additional user acquisition services such as TV and YouTube campaigns, and will all benefit from AppLift’s international resources through its fully operational offices in the U.S. and Asia.

“The mobile opportunity is huge, both in the gaming and non-gaming areas,” said Kaya Taner, AppLift’s CEO and Co-Founder. “According to a study we conducted with Newzoo, mobile games revenue is expected to reach more than $40 billion in 2017, while Digi-Capital predicts that the share of the non-gaming sector is due to increase from 26 percent to 51 percent of all app revenue by the same year. With the integration of appiris, AppLift is now in great position to help app advertisers from all verticals seize this tremendous growth opportunity.”

Both appiris co-founders will join AppLift’s top management team. Stefan Benndorf, CEO of appiris, will act as additional Managing Director, while Hugo Gersanois, appiris CRO, will keep on furthering the growth of the non-gaming verticals. The new entity, 130 employees strong, will operate under the AppLift brand and serve more than 500+ app advertisers on a recurring basis as well as more than 5,000 media partners.

“We are extremely happy to join AppLift’s team and together build a global leader in mobile app performance marketing,” said Benndorf. “With this integration, our advertisers will directly benefit from AppLift’s comprehensive technology stack as well as the expertise of running performance campaigns from mobile games over the past years. AppLift’s international presence will also better serve advertisers in established markets as well as in fast-growing emerging, mobile-first markets.”
