Adbrain Continues US Expansion with Appointment of Google’s Head of Global Strategy for Mobile Ad Platforms

Jesse Hurwitz, formerly of Google and Admeld, joins ad-tech company as VP for the Americas

NEW YORK – Adbrain, The world’s first real-time, multi-screen advertising platform has appointed Jesse Hurwitz, Google’s Head of Global Strategy for Mobile Ad Platforms, as its VP for the Americas. His hire follows news of Adbrain’s recent $7.5 million Series A funding round led by Octopus Investments.

Hurwitz will use his extensive industry relationships and expertise in the programmatic and mobile audience buying markets to ensure Adbrain continues to expand rapidly in the US.

Prior to his senior position at Google, Hurwitz—who has over 10 years’ experience of working in the mobile advertising space—led Admeld’s mobile operations team; Admeld was later acquired by Google. Prior to this he developed a deep understanding of publishers and programmatic audience buying during stints at AOL Mobile/Third Screen Media, and Yahoo.

Jesse Hurwitz, Adbrain’s VP Americas, commented:Forecasters believe that 83% of all US digital display ads will be traded via programmatic channels by 2017 and worth about $17bn. There has never been a more exciting time to work in mobile and I believe that Adbrain’s focus on technical innovation and generating real, transparent, value for clients puts us ahead of an otherwise cluttered market. Adbrain is perfectly placed to expand its already impressive beachhead into the Americas.”

Gareth Davies, CEO of Adbrain, commented: “Jesse’s deep understanding of mobile-first advertising technologies makes him the perfect person to build on the gains we’ve already made in the Americas. He shares our vision of empowering advertisers with an intelligent platform capable of turning their data into deep insights they can use to understand and reach consumers – and massively impact their advertising ROI.”

Hurwitz’s appointment comes hot on the heels of Adbrain’s completion of a $7.5m Series A funding round. Adbrain launched its platform in private beta in February 2014 – with Annalect (part of Omnicom Media Group Europe), M&C Saatchi Mobile, Fetch, Somo and The Exchange Lab onboard.
