OneSpot Named Winner of 2014 SXSW Startup Pitch Competition Hosted by The CMO Club

CMOs recognized content advertising platform as strongest value proposition and relevance to global brands

AUSTIN, Texas – OneSpot, the content advertising company that combines content marketing with the power, data intelligence and scale of online advertising, was announced as the winner of The CMO Club’s SXSW Startup Pitch competition, held in Austin, Texas on March 10, 2014 during SXSW Interactive. The CMO Club (www.thecmoclub.com) is a membership organization of over 800 senior marketing executives across B2C and B2B brands, including over 40% of members from $1 billion+ companies.

Startup founders and CEOs, including OneSpot CEO Steve Sachs, were each given five minutes to pitch senior marketers on why their company or offering is important and what challenges it solves for CMOs and senior marketing executives. With no video, iPads, PCs or presentation screens permitted, presenters were limited solely to speaking about their respective companies.

“Winning The CMO Club’s Startup Pitch competition at SXSW is an honor and privilege,” said Steve Sachs, CEO of OneSpot. “This recognition further validates that content marketing is top-of-mind for CMOs, and that OneSpot offers a breakthrough solution to help brands drive business results from content,” he added.

The CMO Club brings senior marketing leaders together in a private, exclusive yet open environment to engage about what enables them to be more valuable and inspired revenue generators, leaders, marketers and officers. At SXSW Interactive, The CMO Club hosted the “CMO Club House” at a private venue located in the center of Austin’s downtown district, where conference activities were held. Based on winning The CMO Club’s SXSW competition, OneSpot will also present its pitch at The CMO Club’s Innovation and Inspiration Summit in New York on March 24-25, 2014, when over 150 CMOs will convene to address and discuss innovation.

“CMOs who spent time at The CMO Club House came to SXSW to learn about the latest in digital marketing innovation to fuel their global branding and business building efforts,” said Pete Kranik, Founder and CEO of The CMO Club. “OneSpot’s win at our startup pitch event is a strong indicator of how much marketers care about the creative considerations of content marketing, as well as the data science and scale of programmatic advertising.”

Other startups selected by CMOs to present in the competition were Adometry, PointBurst, SocialFlow, Spredfast, TrustRadius, Umbel and Upward Labs.

The CMO Club win bolsters OneSpot’s visibility with top digital marketers, as the company already counts among its customers, leading brands such as Johnson & Johnson, Intel and Allstate.
