Measurement of vSlider Video Interstitial commences in October
AUSTIN, Texas - AdExcite today announced that it is has signed an agreement with comScore, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCOR) to begin video measurement of its advertising network. comScore’s Video Metrix® service will provide AdExcite with comprehensive traffic reporting and key demographic data for all of AdExcite’s online video ad units, including its proprietary vSlider Video Interstitial.
“We’ve worked hard to generate double-digit growth month-to-month in 2012. We are now at a tipping point,” stated Phil Banfield, CEO of AdExcite. “Having independent third-party reporting by comScore of our video traffic will open some new doors for the company and broaden market acceptance of the vSlider.” Developed by AdExcite in 2010, the vSlider interstitial unit allows a video to be displayed without blocking out the view of the page users are coming to see or making a user wait to view content.
In January, AdExcite collaborated with comScore to enable measurement of its ad network audience in comScore’s Media Metrix service. Since January, unique visitors to the network have increased 71%. With its U.S. audience fast approaching 100 million monthly unique visitors, company officials began discussions with comScore about video ad tracking earlier this summer. “We wanted third-party backup for our strong internal numbers. And we wanted that ready before the holiday season hit,” Banfield said. “I appreciate comScore’s willingness to work with a company like ours that is pushing the envelope a bit.”
